Pretend you’re talking to a stranger. How would you explain product management?
Product Managers make strategic, creative, and data-driven product decisions, conducting user research and market analysis to help lead a product team to create unique and attractive products that meet customers’ needs and ultimately help a company meet its business goals.
In addition to supplying a simply worded explanation of what product management is, it’s also worth treating this similar to strategy questions and including a bit more of your philosophy on the value that a product management team can bring by carefully steering products from the ideation and product design phase through launch.
Question: Please explain your approach to monitoring performance and success?
Answer: Product questions like this one should be looked at as an opportunity both to show the process you use for evaluating the success of your products, as well as a chance to brag about the success of some of your past products.
Talk about how you define relevant KPIs for each product and project you work on, then carefully monitor them whether you’re evaluating based on:
用户数The number of users
收入Revenue
Funnel*
Customer lifetime value
Testing results
In your interviews, you should also mention the analytics tools, user research strategies, and other tactics you employ to build an understanding of how your products are being received and used.
Emphasize your attention to detail and adaptability in adjusting on the fly to boost lagging performance, as well as your dedication to data-driven decision-making.
The sales funnel is the series of stages that visitors go through to reach the point at which they become customers.
Through the use of certain sales funnel metrics, you’ll be able to identify where you’re losing prospects throughout the sales funnel so that you can improve your marketing and sales efforts and boost your conversion rate.
Identify Areas of Focus Instead of Guessing
The first thing to measure is volume — or the number of visitors that are entering the sales funnel and that make their way through each stage. Here is the process for measuring the volume of your sales funnel:
Measuring Traffic
Measuring traffic gives you an idea of how effective your marketing efforts are at the initial stages of the sales funnel. How many people are entering the awareness stage of the sales funnel? Web traffic is a pretty broad metric to follow, but it does give you an idea of how you’re doing generating brand awareness when you compare traffic numbers over time.
Measuring Return Traffic
Not every visitor will advance to the next stage of the sales funnel on their first visit to your website. If you don’t do a good job informing them about their problem or need during the awareness stage, they may leave to find another source for their information. Measuring return traffic gives you an idea of how effective your marketing efforts during the awareness stage were. It means that the visitor who left has come back to do further research, whether they’re still in the awareness stage or they’ve moved further down the sales funnel. High traffic numbers but low return traffic numbers often indicate that while you’re doing a good job attracting potential leads to your website, you’re doing a poor job keeping them engaged.
Measuring Leads Generated
在衡量您生成的潜在客户数量时,有两种类型的潜在客户需要衡量:MQL(营销合格潜在客户)和 SQL(销售合格潜在客户)。 Just because someone visits your website doesn’t automatically make them a lead. It’s only by showing a certain amount of interest that prospects become qualified leads. When measuring the number of leads that you’ve generated, there are two types of leads to measure: MQL (marketing qualified leads) and SQL (sales qualified leads). Leads are designated as MQL or SQL using a lead scoring software that assigns points to every prospect based on the information they’ve provided or the actions that they’ve taken.
Marketing Qualified Leads
Measuring the number of MQLs you’ve generated over time helps you identify the effectiveness of the middle of your sales funnel (the interest stage). An MQL is a lead that has been identified as someone who is likely to become a customer. A low number of MQLs means that you’re not doing a good job guiding leads from the awareness stage to the interest stage
Sales Qualified Leads
As opposed to MQLs, SQLs are leads that have been identified as being more likely to make a purchase soon. In a perfect world, the number of SQLs should mirror the number of MQLs you’ve generated. This indicates that you’ve successfully nurtured your SQLs through the sales funnel down to the decision-making stage and they are ready to be engaged by your sales team.
Measuring Sales Opportunities
Don’t mistake your SQLs as sales opportunities. SQLs are still just leads who you think – through their actions and personal information – are ready to be engaged by your sales team. They don’t yet represent sales opportunities. SQLs may still need to be nurtured by your sales team before they become an actual sales opportunity. They only become sales opportunities when your sales team reaches out to them and determines that they present an opportunity. Before you reach out to them, they are still only SQLs. By measuring your sales opportunities, you’ll be able to identify how effectively your team has been able to engage with leads identified as SQLs.
Measuring Closed Won Deals
The ability to close deals indicates how effective your sales strategy is. If you have a high number of SQLs and sales opportunities but a low number of conversions, it means that there’s an issue at the end of your sales funnel. It is ideal when your closed deals are as close in number as possible to your sales opportunities.
Question: Explain the key to a good user interface.
Answer: Simplicity and functionality are both crucial to a good user interface. They should be intuitive to use and navigate, with a consistent look and feel.

Question: Do you have any technical skills that set you apart from other Product Managers?
Answer: Different companies require different levels of technical know-how from their PMs – it’s often said that Google, for instance, prefers Product Managers who have learned to code like a Software Engineer.
Before your interview, jot down all the programming languages you feel you’ve mastered, along with other areas of technical strength. Also, keep in mind that your interviewer might not come from a technical background, so be prepared to provide a layman’s translation for how those skills could bring value to a Product Manager job role.

-- How do you define market opportunity in a business plan?
It’s the projected potential size of your market and sales. The market opportunity section of your business plan is where you provide a well-researched estimate of how many consumers or businesses belong to your target market, as well as how much potential sales you could make from that market.
It basically answers the question, “How many people want the product or service you are offering?”
According to our Business Plans Expert Cheree Warrick, the business goals are included in this section., “For example, I might say, “There are 10,450 people that live within a 1-mile radius of my restaurant. My daily goal is to sell 330 meals per day at an average price point (or order size) of $15 per person.” Cheree explains.
Market Opportunity: How to Identify and Write?
The following are steps on how to identify and write your market opportunity on your business plan.
Step 1: Who is your Target Customer?
Your first step is to define who you’re selling to. Your target market – also known as your sweet spot – pertains to ideal customers you believe will most likely buy your particular product or service. As much as you would want to cater to everybody, your business can’t be all things to all people. No matter how broad you consider the appeal of your product or service, not everyone will be interested in it.
Here are 3 factors that can help you identify your ideal customer:
Demographics (ex. Age, Gender, Income, Marital Status, Occupation/Industry, and Educational Level, etc.)
Location
Psychographics (Interest, Attitudes/Opinions, Hobbies, Regular Activities, and Behaviors)
You can also use Market Tools such as Facebook Audience Insights and Google Trends.
Step 2: Identify a Profitable Market and Gather Data to Support It
The next step is to identify a profitable market for your business based on trusted and reliable statistics, facts, and studies.
Here are 3 things to figure out:
Market Size:
How many potential customers are available? The reason why it's important to know the characteristics of your target customer very well is to aid you in having an accurate estimate of your market size.
Profitability:
Are your potential customers willing and able to spend on your products and services?
Potential Growth:
Are there signs or studies that the size of the market will grow, stay relatively static, or decrease?
--2. To build your product roadmap, what inputs do you use?
product-related
1)market needs
2)business goals - profitability, growth - deliver the outcomes
3)key features - product hooks - aha moment, engage your customer
quantity up: add ideas - group the ideas based on 123
--3. What is a product you can’t live without? How would you improve it?
for me -- google map in the US
transportation + restaurant review website + location markets
add augmentation video services + continuously improve accuracy + security helps + directly sell tickets
--4. Please explain how you managed the roadmap for a product in the past.
Visualize it all on a timeline+releases+features
Building a product roadmap starts with strategy — you must establish the product goals and initiatives that your efforts will support. Once those are defined, you can decide which releases and features are best aligned with your strategy and then visualize it all on a timeline.
Participants
A few considerations will shape your road mapping process. One is your audience — what you show on your roadmap depends on your intended viewers. In the table above, you saw how different types of roadmaps help to highlight different elements. As you build and customize your product roadmap, you can make additional decisions about which details to include (and which to leave out) so that the information portrayed is relevant to whoever is viewing it.
Track and visualize following the strategy
For example, the leadership team will want to understand the strategic importance of what you will deliver, conveyed through roll-up relationships between major releases and associated goals and initiatives. Your product marketing team, on the other hand, will be more concerned with the details and dependencies — so they can track and visualize moving pieces leading up to a product launch and coordinate all go-to-market plans accordingly.
You might share a version of your roadmap with customers too. Customers will want to see what is upcoming — especially any critical functionality they need. On a customer-facing roadmap, you might choose to show a broader release time frame instead of an exact date so that you have the flexibility to shift if necessary.
Follow the current value
Your product roadmap will also reflect the development methodology that your organization follows. For example, an agile team will create a product roadmap that is incremental and flexible to accommodate changes in customer needs and the market. But product roadmaps for organizations following a traditional waterfall approach will be more fixed — conveying a long-term commitment to building specific features within a given time frame.
Components of a product roadmap
Goals, releases, epics, features, timeline,
The details and context may vary, but all product roadmaps should include a few key elements. Here is a quick overview of the main components you need:
Goals: Measurable, time-bound objectives with clearly defined success metrics. Goals represent the critical accomplishments needed to deliver your product.
Initiatives: High-level themes of work describing how your efforts will contribute to your goals. On a roadmap, initiatives show how specific releases and features relate to your strategy.
Releases: A launch of new product functionality represented on a timeline. Releases often contain multiple features that get delivered at the same time.
Epics: Larger bodies of work (like categories) that typically span multiple releases. Epics break down into smaller features that are delivered incrementally.
Features: A specific piece of new or improved functionality that results in value to users. Features can be related to capabilities, components, appearance, and performance.
Timeline: A visualization of when product releases will occur over time. The time scale can range anywhere from days to quarters or years depending on the amount of work and level of detail involved in a particular release.
How to create a product roadmap
With these components and considerations in mind, here are the five main steps to building a product roadmap:
1. Define your product strategy
As mentioned above, setting strategic product goals and initiatives is an important first step in building a roadmap. Strategy is the "why" behind your product — it explains how your efforts will support the overall business. You will also need a strong product vision — capturing who your customers are, what they need, and how you will go to market with your offering. Together, the elements of your product strategy will inform everything that goes on your roadmap.
2. Review and manage ideas
Most product teams have a co nstant influx of product ideas from customers and customer-facing internal teams. When these ideas are organized and prioritized, they are valuable input for deciding what to put on your roadmap. For an objective method of idea evaluation, try scoring ideas based on metrics that reflect your strategy.
3. Define features and requirements
This is when your product roadmap starts to take shape. With your goals, initiatives, and prioritized ideas to guide you, identify the specific product features that you want to deliver. Use a template or tool to put your features into words, add the necessary details in the requirements, and group related ones into epics (if needed). Anything valuable that does not fit on the first iteration of your product roadmap can be saved for later in your product backlog.
At this stage, you can also translate your features into user stories to describe the benefit from the customer's perspective. User stories give your engineering team the context they need to implement the best solutions.
4. Organize into releases
Up to this point, you have focused on defining the "why" and the "what" for your product roadmap — next, you will think about the "when." Once your features are prioritized and sorted, you can plot out your delivery timeline with releases. Releases are often organized by product launch but some teams prefer to arrange their roadmaps based on development capacity.
5. Choose roadmap views
To get your product roadmap up and running, the final step is to visualize everything you have defined up to this point. Try roadmap templates or a roadmapping software tool to experiment with different roadmap views. Consider the following questions to help you decide what to include:
Who needs to see this product roadmap?
What is the most important information I want to convey?
Does my audience care more about the big picture or details?
Does my audience need to know the general timing or exact dates?
Here are five common types of product roadmaps and what makes each of them useful:
Epics roadmap
Helps you plan and organize upcoming work by grouping related features together. An epics roadmap is useful for visualizing work delivered across multiple releases, communicating key focus areas, and making prioritization decisions.
Features roadmap
Shows the timeline for when new features will be delivered. Features roadmaps are perfect for communicating the details of what is coming and when to customers and other teams.
Portfolio roadmap
Shows planned releases across multiple products in a single view. Portfolio roadmaps are useful for providing a strategic overview of your plan to leadership and a broad view of how multiple product teams work together.
Release roadmap
Communicates the activities that must happen before you can bring releases to market — what needs to be done when and who is responsible for delivery. Release roadmaps are helpful for coordinating release activities with other cross-functional teams, such as marketing, sales, and customer support.
Strategy roadmap
Displays the high-level efforts that you plan to invest in to achieve your product goals. A strategy roadmap is great for presenting progress on initiatives to leadership and keeping cross-functional teams aligned on overarching business strategy.
-- Define machine learning.
What is machine learning simple definition?
Machine learning is a subfield of artificial intelligence, which is broadly defined as the capability of a machine to imitate intelligent human behavior. Artificial intelligence systems are used to perform complex tasks in a way that is similar to how humans solve problems.

-- Define recursion.https://www.cs.utah.edu/~germain/PPS/Topics/recursion.html
Recursion means "defining a problem in terms of itself". This can be a very powerful tool in writing algorithms. Recursion comes directly from Mathematics, where there are many examples of expressions written in terms of themselves. For example, the Fibonacci sequence is defined as: F(i) = F(i-1) + F(i-2)
例如,斐波那契数列定义为:F(i) = F(i-1) + F(i-2)
Recursion is the process of defining a problem (or the solution to a problem) in terms of (a simpler version of) itself.
For example, we can define the operation "find your way home" as:
If you are at home, stop moving.
Take one step toward home.
"find your way home"
Here the solution to finding your way home is two steps (three steps). First, we don't go home if we are already home. Secondly, we do a very simple action that makes our situation simpler to solve. Finally, we redo the entire algorithm.
The above example is called tail recursion. This is where the very last statement is calling the recursive algorithm. Tail recursion can directly be translated into loops.
The above example is called tail recursion. This is where the very last statement is calling the recursive algorithm. Tail recursion can directly be translated into loops.
Parts of a Recursive Algorithm
All recursive algorithms must have the following:
Base Case (i.e., when to stop)
Work toward Base Case
Recursive Call (i.e., call ourselves)
The "work toward base case" is where we make the problem simpler (e.g., divide list into two parts, each smaller than the original). The recursive call is where we use the same algorithm to solve a simpler version of the problem. The base case is the solution to the "simplest" possible problem (For example, the base case in the problem 'find the largest number in a list would be if the list had only one number... and by definition, if there is only one number, it is the largest).
