Single-Condition Product Filter

Single-Condition Product Filter

Phone-screen problem: given List<Product> (id, categoryTags set, price) and a FilterRule (optional categoryTags, optional minPrice / maxPrice, operator AND | OR), return matching product ids in input order. Key work is defining how optional criteria combine under AND vs OR, plus normalizing category casing.

Problem
When a user browses a catalog, the system filters a product pool to find items that match a single filtering rule. Implement a lightweight filter for one rule with an operator.

plicit matchesCategory, matchesPrice, and combiner step, so each criterion can be marked "not applicable" when its field is null.

Run the example by hand, then add cases for: no criteria set, only maxPrice, OR with one failing criterion, and mixed-case categories.

Thanks for sharing. Was this filter round run in a runnable editor, and did you have to code the AND/OR not-applicable cases live or just talk through them?
