UIUC的一些信息【实习/就业/起薪】

不知道这个分类对不对。
前天发邮件过去问，昨天没收到回复还担心是不是自己措辞不当。今天早上收到回复，很长，很感动。看来还是特意去问过professional development advisor。
分享给大家，也希望对大家选校有所帮助。

1. What is the class size? Or how many students do you plan to accept?
We estimate that we will enroll approximately 60 students for the Fall 2015 semester.

2. Opportunity at the State Farm Research Center is very attractive, but I wonder whether it gives priority to domestic students?
Unfortunately, international students are ineligible for the State Farm MAGNet program due to visa restrictions.

3. Could you please give me some placement information of previous graduates?
（重点是下面这部分吧）
From our professional development advisor:

a. Starting salaries in the mid to upper 60K range are pretty common for MS graduates.
（如果我理解没问题的话，起薪大概是65+K。如果理解有误请指出。）

b. While we do not have percentages to share given the self-report nature of the data, our graduates are highly recruited. The number of employers attending the departmental career fair has continued to grow (increasing from 12 to 19 this year), collaboration with Research Park continues to grow resulting in more internship opportunities and full-time opportunities, and applications to the MS program have continued to rise. Students express great pleasure with the opportunities they are finding upon graduation, and receiving multiple offers to choose from is not uncommon.
（其实确实可以看出来UIUC对就业这块十分重视。）

c. Some common roles involve variants of analyst (financial analyst, risk analyst, etc.), predictive modeler, and data scientist. Students are hired by insurance companies, financial institutions, manufacturers, CPG companies, market research companies, and more. State Farm, Nielsen, IRI, Anheuser-Busch InBev, Citi, and Zurich are a few of the companies who regularly recruit and hire our students. Regarding the four consulting companies mentioned, all four have a recruiting relationship with the University and the department has a direct relationship with EY and PwC.

项目大概是我最心水的项目。research park除了state farm还有很多别的实习机会。decline的原因是人太多。

为啥小米给你的回复这么仔细，给我的回复就三言两语。。很多有用的信息啊。我也问过学姐，state farm确实不招international的，不过research park还有别的公司可以提供实习。
所以，你打算去UIUC了吗？

哈哈，所以是因为declined所以这么仔细回答的么……UIUC据说career service很好？可是地点确实有点小偏僻？state farm只有这个是不限制国际生么？其他的还好
