ApplyTexas的fee waiver~~~~~紧急求教~~~~要没人试过我就亲身尝试了~~~~~~~

看了UT的faq，允许fee waiver。但网申submit时必须要选一个付款方式和输入信用卡信息。请问

我想是不是选Cashiers Check Money order然后不给他寄就算fee waiver了？

哎，还是负责任的一下吧，造福后人：最后我没交费，然后就没申请成功，因为不缴费不能上传材料；后来系里给我发邮件说正在审材料，让我把费交了再把材料发过去，我不想申了就没弄。

教授比你贼，都历练几十年了，小心眼不能耍，一眼就能看穿，拿下。

首先，你应该提供的是FAQ里面对于waiver的说明。谁能waive，如何waive。这样才有利于自己/大家的判断。

其次，很多学校都可以对特殊身份减免部分或全部申请费。譬如某某基金，某某奖励，某某公民，返校生，诸如此类（纯凭印象举例，不准确）。如果有，一般都会有详细说明。

第三，有的学校是纯纸申可以waive（比如TAMU），有的是纯网申可以waive（比如Drexel）。

第四，建议查询网页说明，看是否包括但不限于以上两点，然后咨询小米。自行操作waive的，只能说责任自负了。

首先，系里对waiver有明确说法：Do you accept fee waivers?

Yes, you may apply without submitting the application fee. We will, however, give priority to those that do pay the fee and submit a full application. All applications are reviewed if nearly all applications materials have been sent. If you are selected for admission, you will have to pay the fee to accept our admissions offer. All students are admitted with an offer of financial aid.

Some U.S. or permanent resident applicants to the Graduate School may be eligible for a waiver of the application fee for the initial graduate degree on the basis of documented financial need. Applicants must have received a significant amount of need-based aid as undergraduates in order to qualify for an application fee waiver. Applicants who wish to be considered for waivers should send a copy of the waiver granted by the testing service for the GRE or GMAT fee or a copy of their most recent financial aid award indicating the source of funding to the address listed below. If you are unable to obtain any other type of documentation, tax returns for the previous two years may be substituted. Applicants are notified in writing only if the request for a waiver is not granted.

    Waivers are not available for the MBA and MPA application fee.
    We do not waive the $10 transcript fee for former UT students.

If you are using the ApplyTexas application, when you are ready to submit your online application, indicate that you are paying by check but do not send a check. If you receive a request for the application fee, ignore it.

If you are using the custom application for Engineering or Social Work, do not pay through UT Direct.

After you submit your application and it loads on our system, you will receive an email with your UT EID. After you receive this confirmation, please email marla.boye@austin.utexas.edu and attach your fee waiver documentation. In the subject line, type "Fee Waiver Request" and include your UT EID.

You will be unable to upload any documents to your Application Status check until Marla Boye waives your application fee.
虽然上面说只能US人waive，但提供了waive的方法：网申时选check

第三，现在偶只能网申了

第四，综上信息，我觉得可以waive，并已决定waive。昨天已发email询问小米，但没答复。等不急了，所以来确定一下用选check来waive的方法有人行不行，submit后系里会不会看到我的信息，有没有人这样做过。

这个系里和研院说法不统一啊。系里没说身份要求而研院有，但你这个项目的录取是走研院路线的，也就是说研院要求应该是有效的。

不过既然截止日期是12.1, 12.2中午之前都还来得及，建议你先等小米回信。

谢谢帮忙分析。说实话这个无论能不能waive，我都准备waive了。
申他完全没把握，并且fee还这么贵

关键还要老师上传推荐信，想留点时间。
现在看来我想waive只有费用选check这一条路了吧？

    UT 的推荐信一定要submit之后才能上传吗？还是建议你等几个小时，小米就上班了。教授上传也不差这几个小时。
