想能快点回国吃吃吃，如何选择quit时间点？

在读PhD一年级，已经拿到了新学校的offer，打算quit掉现的项目，重新申F1。
现在还在读winter quarter，
请问是
1. spring开始前 就quit，然后回国，重新申F1【这样会不会对重新申的时候有影响？】
还是
2. spring结束后把sevis转了之后再回国，重新申F1？

想快点回国吃火锅

老签证今年9月也到期了。所以即使等到spring结束后转sevis，如果暑假想回家，也还是要重新签

Don't take my word for granted as I studied in Canada now. In Canada you just need to let government know that you transferred to another school, there is no need to request another visa. The same might be true for US. My understanding is that for US, as long as you have an offer, they will give you F1 visa.

Yes. Since you quit your first PhD, you may not want that on your resume anymore because you don't get a degree/skills related to your future career. Any interviewer will catch that gap and ask about it.

Thanks a lot. You mean when I am looking for job position in the future, "it would be hard to explain why I have a gap year in future interviews" ?

Note it would be hard to explain why you have a gap year in future interviews, what's the new program that you get enrolled?

Sorry, "Hard" is a strong word. Just note that you need to explain that in an interview.

Your Hr and hiring manager will ask that during the interview.  Is it comfortable for you to say "I quit my last PhD for something else"? If yes, then no worries.
