关于UT Austin的一点信息~

在网上没找到多少关于这个学校的，所以直接辗转发邮件问的校友。这位GG我也不知道是哪个国家的只知道也是个international，人家回答的还挺诚恳的我好感动T.T 话说现在蛮纠结要不要申这个学校，问了几个人都跟我说这个学校的课程偏理论····

The most important thing would be how much experience do you have in using statistical tools, software & analytics。这句话说的太对了····这阵儿忙完我就去学术版报个班去！

As of now the Statistics department of UT doesn't offer any PHD programs. However, they do have plans of offering that in near future, if that is what you are interested in.

During my Fall orientation, graduate school director Lauren suggested that most of the students try to find jobs in industries like healthcare, insurance etc. However, I've not had opportunity to meet any of the alumni members yet.


To give you a little back-ground, I was an international student my self a few years ago. I currently work as a full-time employee and study at UT on part-time basis.

Being an international student in the past I can confidently say that which ever degree program and/or university you may choose it is always going to be challenging to find a job. However, having a degree from UT will hold a good value. The most important thing would be how much experience do you have in using statistical tools, software & analytics

I've just taken one course so far, I must say I am not impressed with the course content. However, you may find other students who like it. My suggestion would be talk to as many current students as you can.

你还知道哪些学校偏理论的么？
偏理论会不会可以理解为基础更扎实，反而更好呢？还是理解为偏理论就是会讲好多数学的东西，统计和其他学科的交叉应用以及软件知识会讲的比较少？

我是问了一个之前去这个项目的学姐，她跟我说课程非常的理论，如果准备继续深造的话还行，找工作就别去了，可能跟有的学校那种Applied Statistics会有区别，就像你说的跟其他学科的交叉应用会讲的比较少~

可是感觉不是那个学校计算机很好，然后就会很重视计算机应用么？。。。额哦。。。

额 计算机这方面我不太了解·········可能吧 不过其实我觉得说起来每个学校也没有太大的差别，关键是看自己的选课了~

好吧。那LZ你怎么理解和定义偏理论和偏应用呢？
