想问一下关于 applied stat master 的情况

我这项目申的挺晚的，是卡着deadline 交的网申，之后一直没有消息，发邮件问小秘，说是我在short list里面，这个应该是 not out of expectation

之后 邮件的内容是这样的

“The department has made all of the first round offers for Fall 2013.  Your application is on the short list.  It is unlikely that any other offers will be made, but there is a small chance of additional last minute offers.

That being said, we will not send out rejections to the applicants on the short list until we know for sure that no other offers will be made.‘

“Unfortunately, we do not rank the students on the wait list. Any other offers would depend on the first round offer decisions.  I cannot give you a probability, but any other offers are unlikely.“

这个我没看懂是什么意思，他说first round 发出去了，我的理解是，之后会有一部分大牛不去，完了之后据掉的ad应该会再往下发吧，个人觉得牛人很多，所以socond round 是不是也会发一定数量的offer呢。

但是小秘姐姐用了 “unlikely" 这个词。。。我也不知道到底是什么意思。

不知道前几年申 这个项目的情况怎么样。 到底从现在这个时间到4 15会在发多少呢！！
这个项目真心想去啊，我就这一个，我背景又不好，这个真的算是dream了
