欧洲一些城市官员表示：Airbnb低迷意味着房屋可以被租给居民而不是游客，缓解当地住房紧张问题

欧洲很多城市的房主选择在Airbnb上把房源挂牌给游客，而不是租给当地居民。市政府官员指责Airbnb造成出租房源短缺，导致租金上涨。疫情期间，一些房主将自己的房产挂牌长租，而不是放在Airbnb上短租。然而，转向中长期租房的人数并不是很多，这表明大多数Airbnb房主还是希望游客在今年晚些时候回来。

Many homeowner chose to list their properties on Airbnb for tourists instead of renting it to local residents. Many city authorities blamed Airbnb for creating shortage of rental properties and driving up rents. Now during the coronavirus pandemic, some homeowners listed their properties for long term rentals. However, the numbers switching to medium- and long-term rentals is a stream, not a river, and suggests most Airbnb hosts plan to sit tight in the hope tourists return later this year.   source
