Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Teachers should assign homework for students every day.
Admittedly, students deepen their understanding of the content they learned by doing homework, but too much homework certainly causes stress on students lowering the efficiency of study. Generally, students who cannot finish their assignment would get punished. If the assignment is too much to finish, students could be stressful and even copy others’ homework just for avoiding punishment. Therefore, nobody truly cares about what they learn from the assignment. Moreover, students would spend less time on their hobbies. Excessive homework occupies nearly all of their free time. Eventually, they might become nothing but bookworms.

Students are able to participate in activities that are beneficial for their mental and physical development, if teachers do not assign homework for them every day. Playing sports with friends, painting pictures, playing instruments would cultivate students’ healthy personalities, which are essential for them in the future. A recent study shows that, students who participate in team sports tend to have less problem getting along with others, and they are more likely to obtain a higher position in the job market compared to those who do not. Take my uncle for an example, he played for the basketball team when he was in high school. He told me that he learned from his coach and teammates about how to succeed through hard work, how to communicate with others, and how to be a tough man. All of these helped him make a different in his career. He really appreciated this experience.

In addition, without being bothered by excessive assignment, students could do research on the subjects they are interested in. Most homework serves as a means to lay a solid foundation of certain subjects and is limited in the topic, which could not satisfy students’ desire to explore further. Doing their own research would give students a clear vision of ares they might choose as a career in the future, thus they are able to plan ahead, not just waiting for others to point the way out.

Again, I do not suggest that teachers should not assign homework for students. Homework is essential for laying the foundation of the discipline, but too much assignment means a lower study efficiency, and students should be allowed to spend their time on activities or researches they are interested in. Therefore, teachers should not assign homework for students every day.

Admittedly, students deepen their understanding of the content they learned by doing homework, but too much homework certainly causes stress on students lowering the efficiency of study. Generally, students who cannot finish their assignments would get punished. If the assignment is too much to finish, (Chinglish, 改:the assignment is overwhelmed) students could be stressful and even copy others’ homework just for avoiding punishment. Therefore, nobody (好像有点引起误会,改成no students) truly cares about what they learn from the assignment. Moreover, students would spend less time on their hobbies. Excessive homework occupies nearly all of their free time. Eventually, they might become (turn into)nothing but bookworms.

Students are able to participate in activities that are beneficial for their mental and physical development, if teachers do not assign homework for them every day. Playing sports with friends, painting pictures(删掉), playing musical instruments would cultivate students’ healthy personalities, which are essential for them in the future. A recent study shows that, students who participate in team sports tend to have less problem getting along with others (to be more social/ sociable ), and they are more likely to obtain a higher position in the job market compared to those who do not. Take my uncle for an example, he played for the basketball team when he was in high school.(back in his high school time) He told me that he learned from his coach and teammates about how to succeed through hard work (diligence), how to effectively communicate with others, and how to be a tough man both physically and mentally. All of these helped him make a different in his career(这句说得不够detailed,怎么个difference法?). He really appreciated this experience.
. Χ

In addition, without being bothered by excessive assignments, students could do research on the subjects they are interested in.这个论点非常有新意,加分! Most homework serves as a means to lay a solid foundation of certain subjects and is limited in within the topic, which could not satisfy students’ desire to explore further.
