The Energy Systems and Controls Lab (ESCL) directed by Assistant Professor Dong Zhang at The University of Oklahoma, USA has a fully funded PhD position opening. Our technical interests include control systems, optimization, energy systems, vehicle electrification, batteries, smart grids, energy/material experiments. Desirable backgrounds include mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, systems engineering, and physics.


The desired candidates are expected to research one or more of the following areas focused on renewable energy systems:

- Mathematical Modeling and Identification
- Estimation of States and Parameters
- Optimal Control and Fault Diagnosis
- Optimization
- Experimental validation
