Introduction Status from Job Offer

各位大神，

最近有幸收到一份offer,不过这份offer有提到introductory status,请问大家知道这是什么意思吗？是不是等于probation period? 童鞋谢过。

All new employees are on an introductory status for the first 90 days of employment. The
introductory period allows both you and the company to evaluate your fit in the job for
which you are being hired. At the end of the introductory period, you will receive an
evaluation of your performance.

我的第一份工作也有这个，说前90天是试用期。然后90过了，什么都没有发生，也没有人和我谈话，继续干了两年

美国不都是at will吗？咋还有试用期，感觉是中国公司吧，把国内那一套搬来了
