从小米那里问到的关于Umich精算的消息

1.关于第二专业的硕士：Many programs support their students participating in Dual MS degree programs.  Most programs would ask that a student complete one term in the home department before doing a dual degree since you do require the department's permission and your advisor may want to make sure you are doing well in your required courses before you take on additional work.
2.关于读Phd：We've never had an Actuarial MS student apply to the Math PhD program so I could not tell you what the chances are.  Students here in a MS program with an interest in moving into the PhD program must apply just like everyone else.  It would depend on the applications we get that year and how competitive your application would be against the other applications.  Our PhD program receives nearly 500 applications each year to fill 18 spots.
3.学费：Tuition has not been set yet for the coming year.  Currently tuition is 39,604 for the year for full time (9-18 credit hours per term).
4.专业有无博士：We do not have a PhD program in Actuarial Science.
5.项目的学生数量：There are currently 4 students in the program.  The number each year varies from approximately 4 - 8 students.
6.实习和就业：It is rare that a student is not able to find an internship in the summer between years 1 and 2. We work very hard to help our students find these internships. Almost all of our students have found jobs after graduation. It is very rare that a student is not able to find a job.  Usually this only happens if a person does not do well in the program with coursework. Again, this is rare.
7.实习的地点：Internships are all over - some are local, many are in other states.  It is hard to predict where the internships will be next summer.

问了小米好多问题，原来想写中文但总觉得看小米发来的这样更真实可信，而且也不难理解。我当是在UCD统计和Umich的精算之间纠结，担心就业不好，我觉着我就是冲着第六条去的。。。。

这个项目的人真的挺少的，而且大家相互好像也不怎么遇到。

我来了要一个学期了，我觉得数学系对精算的支持还挺多，比如这里有一个SAM的组织30刀的会员费，但是如果你有精算考试的话，把申请表格填好交给这里的主管老师，他会帮你搞定一切，还会cover考试费用，但是一学期能不能cover两门还不确定。。我觉得超级好的。
实习的话，最近一直在找，网上投了许多，各种无回复（不知道网上海投靠不靠谱。。），下周五数学系的career fair，一定要找到实习呀！！攒人品，哈哈。

另外就是，UM的老师真的都非常好，当地人也超级nice~

楼主最后还是去了Umich精算了了？？？ 招的人真心少啊。。。这个项目，还不是很了解，考虑过精算，但没考虑密歇根的精算，毕竟太高冷。。。。。回头是否好去看看？ 求点楼主的分享，这个项目特色？ 谢谢

背景：
sjtu数学本科，GPA：83（低的不能看。。有部分坑爹老师和自己浪的原因），排名中上吧
