TWO Ph.D Openings for Smart Grid and Quantum Computing in University of Houston

Dear All:

My research group in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Houston (UH) is offering two fully funded PhD positions. We anticipate a start date of either January 2024 or August 2024, with a preference for January 2024. We are seeking motivated and passionate individuals with a keen interest in academic research within the fields of smart grid technology, with potential applications in quantum computing and deep decarbonization of energy systems. Students are expected to do research in one of the following areas:

Application:
Power system operations and planning
Energy system decarbonization

Competitive candidates are expected to have a background in one of the following areas:

Power system operations and planning
Operations research
Control engineering  
Quantum physics  
Applied math
