As an American working in Google, I strongly support this proposed rule since this is a win-win strategy for both US and international students who attained or is going to attain STEM degree in US.  in our company, those international workers really do the best job and they account for 60% of the proportion of all employees. they are intelligent and hard-working. The most difficult projects are always solved by these people. If the goverment stop the OPT extension, it would be a subversive catastrophe to most of companies in U.S. because they lack the work force.  And also, these students would not choose America as their best choice, they may choose Japan,China or other countries to study and work. It would directly damaged America's education. All these factors would hit the U.S. economy and to enhance the economic strength of other countries. The consequences are unimaginable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

我想说的是::请大家尽量站在美国人的立场来写!!!!毕竟我们是国际学生,处于被动地位。美国的法律首先保护的是美国人自己的权益!!!!!

I SUPPORT this proposal. International STEM students actually do NOT take American students' jobs.

I'm an electrical engineering student at a university in the Midwest. I've enrolled in the ECE program for 3 years and I've been a teaching assistant since 2015 spring.
From my experience, I found the engineering school is much smaller than the business school in terms of enrolled students, but there are more international students in our engineering school. And, I found American students might take circuit courses but seldom select more advanced ECE classes, such as, electrical machines, power system analysis. In fact, most students in these courses are international.
Basically, the STEM international students are looking for job opportunities requiring high level of expertise, which most native students are not interested in. And, I don't think the few native master students in our department have a hard time in finding jobs. The native graduates from our lab all went to good companies like Vishay Dale Electronics, National Instruments.

International STEM students actually do NOT take American students' jobs. The STEM jobs are taken by the international students is simply that companies cannot find a native candidate with required expertise.

1jz-8m1e-fd33 大家赶快去评论吧!.
The rule is very beneficial to the current US economy. This rule is going to relieve the stress from the H1B quote issue in recent years. Many students and their employers are not going to be affected by the ridiculous H1B lottery. With so many STEM talents working hard for US company willing to provide appropriate training, the US economic growth is going to be very strong for another few years. Thank you, Department of Homeland Security (DHS)! You did a great job!

I am an international undergraduate student studying computer science and mathematics at U.S. college. I strongly support this new OPT extension rule.
. Χ
When I planned to study abroad, I eventually decided to come to the United States rather than other possible countries because U.S. provides me the best opportunity to work in the real industry and have industry experience during school or after graduation. Indeed, I learned a lot from my summer internship at Amazon as a software engineer. In order to continue to work legally in the industry, OPT extension is extremely important to me and other STEM students. OPT extension gives us the chance to become involved in expanded post--graduate opportunities in the United States. In the meantime, from what I observed from the internship, STEM students has become the crucial contributing forces to US tech companies. Without OPT extension rule, it is obvious that US high--tech companies will lose lots of talented STEM students and therefore negatively strike U.S. economy.
.
Just like many other international students who decide to leave their home countries and come to study in the U.S., I am attracted by the valuable opportunity of career development and industry experience that are strongly supported by and tied to OPT rules. When I come back to my home country with the knowledge learned in the industry, I will be competitive in the job markets. As you can see, this new OPT rule can not only contribute to U.S. economy by bringing and allowing talented STEM students to work in U.S. tech companies but also benefit STEM students themselves when they come back to work in their home countries.

I strongly SUPPORT the proposal for the following reasons:-baidu 1point3acres
1. The government should let the students who learned knowledge from U.S. universities stay in the country and let them keep making contributions to the U.S.. Diversity is also very important to the U.S..
. 1point3acres.com
2. Competition does exist, but is not a bad thing.Competition can help U.S. select more talented and qualified employees, and increase the average ability and furthermore allows U.S. to compete better globally.
.
3. Some of the international students may have considered the opportunities offered by the STEM OPT extension when deciding whether to pursue their degree in the United States. Prompt action appropriate with respect to those students who have already committed to study in the United States, partly based on the possibility of furthering their education through an extended period of practical training in the world's leading STEM economy.
