关于12个月 OPT 可以拆开用的问题

12个月的OPT可以同级学位间拆开用。
比如你12月份一个Non-STEM Master毕业了。但是你不确定你能否找到工作。 先申请5个月。用到5月份。这时候你基本知道自己中签没了。
没中的话。再去读个学位，最好STEM的。这样你就可以利用STEM  变成7+24=31！

SEVP also clarified that it is possible to "split" standard OPT between two different programs at the same academic level. SEVP stated in its OPT Policy Guidance [6.2] that the requested end date for post-completion OPT "cannot be more than 12 months after the requested start date. The end date may be sooner if the student has less than 12 months of OPT left at the current degree level or the student wishes to retain a period of OPT for pre- or post-completion OPT for another degree at the same education level."
Practice NoteExample 1. Student uses 3 months of pre-completion OPT during a bachelor's degree in biology. After receiving the bachelor's degree in biology, the student immediately begins a second bachelor's degree in chemistry. The student would have 9 months of OPT eligibility remaining, which could be used as either pre-completion or post-completion OPT in the bachelor's degree in chemistry.
Example 2. Student uses 6 months of post-completion OPT following a master's degree in engineering, and then pursues a master's degree in business. The student would have 6 months of OPT eligibility remaining at the master's academic level, which could be used as either pre-completion or post-completion OPT in the master's degree in business.
Practice NoteStudents should use caution when splitting OPT if they wish to qualify for a 17-month STEM OPT extension. Students should be advised that they can qualify for a 17-month STEM OPT extension only if the post-completion OPT they are extending is based on a STEM degree.

第一次听说OPT还能这么玩。。。不过还不如直接来读个STEM的省事，折腾来折腾去的，何必

真的是这样吗？ 那我这种本科读完直接去读stem的可以把本科的一年opt也叠加进去？？？

请问那如果是冬季毕业， 毕业前暑假用3个月，然后毕业后那9个月的opt期间还能申请stem extension吗

必须是同级的 比如2个master
过了不用就作废了
