Myname is XXX. I’ll start my PhD study in University of XXX And my major is Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics. My researchadvisor is Prof. XXX.

Themain reason why I choose University of XXX is that I want to learnunder the guidance of Prof. XXX. Her research really appeals to me. It is a goodopportunity to me. My advisor also provided me a graduate researchassistantship. And my advisor funding comes from National Science Foundation(NSF).

Mybachelor major is Theoretical and Applied Mechanics. During my undergraduatestudy, I became interested in computational mechanics. To me, computationalmechanics is like simulating the order and mystery of nature. My undergraduatethesis is XXXXXXX. And my master thesis is XXXXXX. Both twopapers are related to computation mechanics.

AfterI got my master degree, I decided to take a job to allow me time to thoroughlythink through my future. During my work, I realized that I am not quite used tothe atmosphere in company and I am more suitable to do research in university.Working in academia will give me more freedom to explore the fundamental rulesbehind the beauty of the nature.

During my PhD study, I will focus on the computationalbiomechanics of soft tissue. Softtissue often undergoes large deformations and thus the analysis relies on thecomputer simulations. Another main advantage of computational biomechanics isthat it could determine the mechanical response without experiments. Such haslead computational methodto become ubiquitous inseveral fields of Biomechanics. The practical application of my research is tounderstand the mechanism of soft tissues from multiple scalesand Multiphysic.

AfterI got my PhD degree, I plan to find a job in university in China. Biomechanicsis a new research area in China and there are many opportunities inuniversities, such as Biomedical EngineeringCenter in XXXX University, School of life science and technology in University ofXXXX and so on. Oversea researchexperience will largely help me find a job in these universities in China and contribute to this area. Also,my parents live in China and I am the only child in my family. Aftergraduation, I need to come back to China and take care of them.

我以前做有限元分析比较多，生物这方面倒是没啥基础。请教下，我这里面对生物力学专业性的描述问题不大吧？谢谢了
