.. Topic:Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Most advertisements make products seem much better then they really are.Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer
There are a flood of various advertisements on TV, radios and Internet, which are deliberately designed by the advertisement companies to attract consumers. Personally, I agree with the opinion that the products are often beautified by the advertisements so that they seem much better than they really are.. 1point3acres
First of all, nearly all the advertisements exaggerate the appearance, functions or qualities of the products. In advertisements, the products seem to be perfect. The appearances of the products are fairly attractive. For example, the cakes in the advertisements have tasty chocolate and fresh fruits on the surface, but the cakes which are really sold to the customers only have a very ordinary look. Besides, the functions and qualities of the products are largely improved in the advertisements. For instance, in an advertisement, after keeping taking a kind of medicine, a fat girl lost 15 kilograms of weight in 15 days and thus become a charming girl. In fact, opposite to what the advertisement claimed, this weight-control drug has little effect。

Furthermore, because the advertisements are planned by professional companies, the customers tend to be interested in the products in the advertisements very easily. Before making an advertisement, the company will carry out a market research first, which can get the result of what the customers would like to buy. According to the statistics, the company will design a specific advertisement for the aimed people. Thus, people always get products they want in the advertisements rather than in the real life. In addition, according to a survey, over 90% of the companies will hire a popular star to act in the advertisements. For many customers like the stars in the advertisements, the products which are recommended by them will become much more attractive.
Admittedly, there are some exceptions that commodities in advertisements are described as what they really are. Once a certain product gained a good reputation, it is not necessary to exaggerate it in the advertisements. Because a lot of people have used this product and are satisfied, what the advertisements supposed to do is to tell the truth. In that way, people will lay increasing trust on the products. However, the products which do not need any exaggeration are quite rare.
In conclusion, in most of the cases, advertisements make products seem much better then they really are.

The environment plays a crucial role in the development of a child. Parents are supposed to provide their children with an atmosphere which is beneficial for them. Personally speaking, I disapprove of the statement that it is better for children to grow up in countryside.
Admittedly, children can feel close to nature if they grow up in countryside. Nowadays, the cities are full of modern skyscrapers, noisy factories and vehicles instead of forests, rivers and mountains. Living in such environment, children can hardly have access to nature.
However, children living in cities can acquire more resources than those in countryside. Take education as an example, most of good teachers are employed by top schools of big cities, such as Beijing and Shanghai, while the density of schools in countryside is fairly low, leave alone the quality of schools. Children in the countryside have to travel a long journey to get to school and some schools merely have several teachers who are responsible for all the students in the school. Besides, schools in the cities are able to provide the most advanced equipments for young students, say computers, electronic goods. Thus, children can learn to search for information on the Internet at a very young age, which is really an efficient way. There is also a big library with a large amount of books in the schools of cities. It offers children various kinds of books, so they can easily borrow a lot of books which interest them.

Furthermore, the life in cities will significantly broaden children's horizon. There are a great many famous museums in big cities, say, the Forbidden City in Beijing, the Louvre in Paris. If parents accompany their children to visit these places, the children can gain a lot of knowledge from the visit. Moreover, perhaps children's interests are arisen. Consider an example, with so many foreigners, big cities are vey helpful for children to learn a foreign language by allowing them directly talking to the foreigners. Having conversations with Americans can improve their oral English and chatting with French people will be beneficial to their speaking French. Therefore, children in big cities obtain knowledge from different ways besides text books and have a broad horizon.
In conclusion, I think that it is better for children to grow up in cities, because they can receive better resource and posses a broader horizon. .
