关于PS里面的career path问题

是这样的，现在对那种在buyside,为trader提供模型的quant比较感兴趣，想写将来做这个，但是这个在国外怎么说？我看别人的career path 都是虾米risk management, fixed income之类的，这个能算一个方向么？

again, nobody really cares about your "career path"
everybody wants to be quant, but in the end almost everybody couldn't make it

desk quant doesn't need to come up with trading ideas. all they need to do is programming

But they also have to check which trading ideas is better and optimize them, right?

Traders give desk quants the trading ideas...
Desk quants optimize the parameters...
It's at the traders' discretion which idea is better

all right. If I just said I want to be a desk quant, will they think I lack aspirations?
