I filed outside normal processing time and received this

Hi everyone,

Cannot type Chinese now, I received from my attorney today in the morning according to outside normal processing time inquiry, which I filed last week.

USCIS responses: Your case is currently delayed because the required security checks are still pending.
We cannot make a decision on your case until we receive the results of these security checks.

The thing is, my case status is 'Name was updated' from April 12th, how long would this security check takes, anyone know about this? thanks a lot!

p.s. My attorney said: you cannot do anything but wait.

uscis收到的每个申请都需要做security check， 不同种类的申请需要的security check不一样， security check有时候很快clear， 有时候很慢， 取决于你在他们的数据库里有没有被hit到， 只能等。

你可以试试， 不过真的卡在security check的话， congressman也没有什么用， 除非是security check回来了uscis把你case忘记了
