Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? People who have learned many different skills are more likely to succeed than those who focus on learning only one skill.

With the development of the society, finding a good job has become more and more competitive for the most of the people. In order to grasp every opportunity, learning many different skills is a good way to improve the possibility of being hired. Therefore, from my perspective, the person with many skills is more likely to succeed than the one with only one skill.

First, there is no denying that having a variety of skills means having more chances. Imaging you are wanting a job for programming. If you are a programmer without any other skills, when the a job about marketing is empty, you are less likely to be hired. On the contrary, if you own different skills at the same time, including the knowledge about marketing luckily, you will probably be hired. Thus, learning more skills, no matter whether they are relative to you major, will never do harm to your career but to help you to be success.

Then, maybe someone will argue that learning so many different skills means having no deep realize in a specific area. However, once we look back to the history, we can overthrow the viewpoint easily. Newton, a well-known scientist, was notable not only for his devotion for physics but also for the mathmatic, the same as Archimedes. What's more, Einstein, the creator of the nuclear weapon, was an excellent violinist at the same time. In addition, according to a research, more than 40 percent of the breakthroughs in the science are related to more than one region, which means that scientists with more than one skills have more possibility to get a breakthrough. It is another reason why I think having different skills leads to success.
