PS，版主，那啥我也不晓得这贴该发在哪里~所以看着环境的人不多，所以就发这儿积累人气哈~

这个是我发的内容，问题嘛都很普通，没太大针对性~

I am planning to apply for M.S. program in Environmental Restoration Engineering and Science Graduate Program at XXX. I have checked the application system. But I still have several questions to ask or confirm.

1. What materials should I mail to the department before the application deadline? Scanned Official Transcript, financial statement of support, Letters of recommendation, or any other materials you have required?
2. Do I have to issue my transcripts from evaluation services (i.e. World Education Services or Josef Silny)?
3. I want to re-take the TOEFL test but may be late for the application, so will you accept the TOEFL score sent after the application deadline?
4. Do you know the average scores of GPA, TOEFL and GRE of the students admitted in 2013 FALL? It will be so kind of you if you could give me some information related to that.
5. One of my professor agreed to recommend me for my application, but he asked me to use his public email instead of one ended with .edu. I wonder if it's OK to use public mailbox for the recommendation letter.
6. If I only have a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science but not in engineering, can I apply to the program? And there was no physical course during my undergraduate study. Will it have some negative influence on my application?
7. Could you give me some specific admission statistics? Such as how many students do you plan to admit this year?

I am the Director of Graduate Studies for the Water Resources Sciences graduate program.  As stated by Prof. Voller, the Environmental Restoration Engineering and Science Graduate Program is not active.

1. You should not be mailing any material prior to applying.  The applications are submitted online.  You should submit the requested information.
.google  и2. Your transcripts should be official from the educational institution(s) that you have previously attended.
3. Yes.  We can amend the application as new information becomes available.  
4. Unfortunately, we are short on staff right now, so we cannot find this data.
5. It is technically allowed, but letters from personal e-mail addresses are not given as much value as those from an official University address.
6. The Water Resources Sciences graduate program is very diverse.  Some aspects of our program do not focus on physics, while others do focus on physics.  You should consider this while drafting your personal statement; I recommend that you make it clear what area of Water Resources Sciences for your skills/educational background are suitable.
7. Again, we don't have access to this data right now because of staffing problems.

Nothing.  All must go to the graduate school

No, these haven’t been compiled.  The best information on this is from our Admissions web page where we list typical scores

Yes, to decreased chances, but we do admit non-engineers.

All materials are important.  All you can do is submit your application and do the best job you can with it.

第三封 来自 UIOWA 小秘人好NICE，回的超详细呢~

Thank you for your email and for your interest in our program.

The application is done on-line
(http://www.uiowa.edu/admissions/graduate/apply/index.html
and you will be able to submit your transcript.  And ETS needs
. Χto report your official GRE & TOEFL scores to Admissions.

We (department) want the Statement of Purpose with resume
3 letters of recommendation, and a copy of your transcript.
All supporting documents must arrive in this office via mail or
courier, none will be accepted via email.  Recommendation letters
may come with your supporting documents as long as they are
in individual, sealed envelopes, otherwise they can come directly
from the writers.

Please be assured that every complete application we receive is reviewed
for admission and for the possibility of financial support.  But we must
see a complete application (including transcripts, Statement of Purpose
with resume, 3 letters of recommendation, and official GRE & TOEFL-or
IELTS scores) to be able to make a judgment on whether or not we will
be able to recommend your admission.

Receiving your TOEFL score after the deadline will not be a problem
Huang.  The sooner it arrives the better, but we are used to miscellaneous
pieces of the application arriving at different time.

Our recommendation of admission is currently limited to our ability
to offer financial support to the applicant.  If we do not have support to
offer, we are not likely to recommend admission.  We never have a set
number of students we plan to admit, it hinges on the match between
the student and program (research we are currently involved in), and
what financial support we have to offer.

The Environmental Engineering and Science program you are interested
in has students with a variety of backgrounds, both engineering and science.
There is a listing of the courses we would expect you to have had as part
of your under graduate studies.  That can be found on our web site at:  http://www.engineering.uiowa.edu/cee under Graduate Programs.
If you have not taken the type of courses listed, you might need to take
the under grad courses as a graduate student.

好问题！哈哈，我给忘问了~但是呢，有些学校是不用邮寄，如果需要邮寄的话我觉得地位和GT送分应该差不多~

从回复来看，一类学校是任何材料都不可以过了DDL~
                  还有一类就是尽量快，可以缓缓，但不能过分，只有材料齐了才会审~


这个就是我理解的啊~不过应该以邮戳为准吧，毕竟天气等非可控因素真的就不好说了~

1. Only mail transcripts. Do not send financial statements at this time or any other documents. One official transcripts from each institution you have attended (undergraduate and beyond) must be mailed directly to the CEE Graduate Admissions Office. International academic records must be in the original language accompanied by an official English translation. Documents must be issued by the institution with the official seal/stamp and an official signature. See below mailing address.
2. International academic records must be in the original language accompanied by an official English translation.

4. GRE: Verbal: old test About 500; revised test about 153

     GRE: Quantitative: About 770; revised test about 161

     GRE: Analytical Writing: old and revised test about 4

TOEFL: minimum 92

5. If that is what he wants it should be ok as long as the letter contains appropriate contact information.

6. Those students who do not have an engineering background may be required to fulfil course deficiencies which may not count towards the degree credits.

接着是UCR，虽然综排一般，但是地理、环境相关的专业都是8错的~据之前的学姐说，申请还是蛮有难度的~呜呜呜~

1.     Transcripts cannot be “scanned” they must be sent (sealed by the school and unopened) to our department for evaluation.    Anything else is considered a “unofficial” transcript.
Everything else is electronic.  You will be given the option to send email containing instructions to your letter writers that they respond back to by email following the instructions.

2.    This is probably a question for the UCR Graduate admissions office.   Transcripts must be in both your home language and in English so they they can be evaluated by our school.

3.   We will but we can only evaluate what has been sent to us.   This can become an issue depending on when you plan on retaking the TOEFL

4.  This information varies from year to year and is not given out to prospective students.

5.  Your letter writers should be using their school email address…this is one of the ways that that the letter of recommendation is “authentic”
