PhD student recruiting in Metal-Organic Framework and porous material

Position: PhD Position (PhD Scholarship Supported) in the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST, QS 27, 2021), Guangzhou Campus
There are available PhD positions (PhD Scholarship Supported) in the Thrust of Sustainable Energy and Environment, Function Hub, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Guangzhou, China, in the field of heat and mass transfer in Metal-Organic Framework and porous material, air dehumidification, latent thermal storage with phase change materials, and machine learning application in zero-energy buildings.
The research fund of the research group is sufficient to encourage multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research. Details of HKUST (Guangzhou) can be found in the website: https://hkust-gz.edu.cn/
HKUST (GZ) implements a pilot program. Each doctoral student will be guided by two or more professors from different fields. The Prime supervisor is Dr. Yuekuan Zhou.
Position start date: PhD beginning of Sep 2022.
PhD student requirements:
(1) With a Master degree or equivalent in the field of building energy system, HVAC technology, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer.
(2) Strong competence in the building energy simulation software (like CFD, COMSOL, MATLAB, Python), modelling and optimization.
(3) Outstanding academic and publication records.
(4) Hard working and high sense of responsibility.
(5) English Requirement: Applicants who have not obtained a degree of which the language of instruction was English from a recognised university are required to obtain an overall score of at least 6.5 (with score for the writing component at 5.5 or above) in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); or 550 or above (paper-based) in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or 80 or above in the internet-based test.

要求：
（1） 拥有建筑环境与能源应用、暖通空调、能源与动力工程的硕士学位，或同等学历。
（2） 熟悉掌握建筑能耗模拟软件（如CFD, COMSOL, MATLAB, Python）、建模和系统优化。拥有热力学，传热传质等学科的优异学习成绩。
（3）优秀的学习，论文发表和出版经历。
（4）对科学充满热情、吃苦耐劳、工作努力、责任心强、勤奋努力并有团队合作精神。
（5）英语要求：未获得英语教学语言学位的申请人，必须在雅思（IELTS）中取得至少6.5分（各项不低于5.5）的总分；托福（paper-based）550分以上，或80分(internet-based)或以上。
