Two graduate research assistant (GRA) positions are available from Fall 2023 in the School of Computing at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, in the direction of wireless communications and networks for 5G and beyond.
The GRA positions are supported by grants from the U.S. National Science Foundation. Main research areas include 1) physical-layer statistical channel modeling in the millimeter-wave and terahertz bands, 2) design of signal processing algorithms in multi-antenna systems, 3) machine learning in wireless communications, and 4) development of millimeter-wave channel propagation testbeds for emerging broadband communication scenarios, including holographic communication and smart agriculture.
The GRAs will be working with Dr. Shuai Nie (Google Scholar: https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=3LhW1zgAAAAJ&hl=en) toward the Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering. Candidates with backgrounds in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related programs with an interest in wireless communications and wireless networks are encouraged to apply.
More information about the research projects can be found at https://cse.unl.edu/~snie/projects.html. Interested candidates are encouraged to contact Dr. Nie with a curriculum vitae, prior publications (if available), and transcripts at shuainie@unl.edu. |
