The Computer Science Department at the University of Memphis is recruiting highly motivated Ph.D. students to join Dr. Kan Yang’s research group in Cybersecurity and AI starting in Fall 2025, Spring 2026 or Fall 2026.

Research Areas:
•        Cryptography and applied cryptography
•        Privacy-preserving machine learning
•        Federated learning and secure computation
•        Robustness and trustworthiness of AI models

Requirements:
•        Strong background in cryptography or related mathematical foundations
•        Self-motivated, responsible, and able to work independently
•        Good programming skills and research potential
•        English proficiency (TOEFL/IELTS and GRE scores required for international applicants, subject to university policy)
