接到UWash环境工程的MS AD但有点困惑

华盛顿大学发来的邮件里是这样写的：

However, we are pleased to inform you that you have been approved for admission to our non-thesis master's program for Autumn Quarter of the 2016-2017 academic year, which begins on Wednesday, September 28, 2016.In some instances, it may be possible to begin in the non-thesis master's program and switch to the research track later. Accepting your offer of admission does not necessarily constitute your acceptance of any offer of financial support from the graduate program -- please consult with the graduate program to determine their deadline to accept offers of financial support. 表示没太理解啊。。。是去了之后可能从没有论文压力的MS转成有专门研究方向的？ 还有申到financial support的可能么？有没有亲能帮着解释一下，感谢！

感觉就是申PHD被降录成non thesis ms, 然后有机会转成thesis ms
