One research assistantship position for a Ph.D. student for Fall 2012 is available at Computer Science and Engineering Department of Engineering. The research area is in spatial databases and data mining with applications to intelligent transportation, location-based social networks, and epidemiology. Prefer applicants familiar with algorithm design and implementation; and with strong analytical thinking. Data mining and statistical background is a plus.
