求问关于租屋清洁和翻新的问题

大家好，我现在租的房子合同到八月底，房东这段时间准备卖房，之前有人来看房的时候可能是和房东说了，他嫌房子不干净，还想找人来粉刷墙壁，我们清洁了一下，又同意了painter上门刷墙。但是现在房东还不满意，还想请人上门清洁。我们之前清洁和等刷墙已经花了两天，刷完墙的油漆味一周都没散（还不知道什么时候能散干净），所以我觉得我们已经做得够可以了，就不是很想同意，而且不知道同意了这次清洁，后面还有没有更多的要求。
所以现在想请教一下大家：
拒绝房东关于找人上门清洁的要求是合理的吗（或者会产生法律问题吗），房子在芝加哥地区，我看到Chicago Rents Right里有这一段说明

WHAT ARE THE TENANT’S GENERAL DUTIES UNDER THE ORDINANCE? {MUN. CODE CH. 5-12-040}
The tenant, the tenant’s family and invited guests must comply with all obligations imposed specifically upon tenants by provision of the
Municipal Code, applicable to dwelling units, including section 7-28-859:
• Buying and installing working batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors within tenant’s apartment.
• Keeping the unit safe and clean.
• Using all equipment and facilities in a reasonable manner.
• Not deliberately or negligently damaging the unit.
• Not disturbing other residents.

但是这个clean的定义是什么，因为我感觉房子已经算比较干净了，只是还可能还没到房东的要求
而且我可以接受搬出的时候请人来清洁到他满意为止，但是住宿期间也一直要这么干净并不合理吧。
