拜登信誓旦旦承诺，若大选获胜将立刻取消对H1B及其他工作签证的限制

特朗普对H1B的限制遭到越来越多印度和美国科技行业高层的不满与批评，而另一边民主党总统候选人拜登站出来全力支持外国技术工人。拜登6月27日在由NBC新闻组织的数字市政厅会议上（digital town hall meeting）上表示，将会重点关注亚裔美国人和太平洋岛民（AAPI）的问题。并承诺说，如果他在11月的大选中获胜，将立即取消被印度人广泛使用的H-1B和其他工作签证的限制。会上拜登还补充说明：“The people coming on these [H-1B] visas have built this country（持H1B签证的人已经在建立这个国家了） ”。此外，由于每个国家每个财年获得绿卡的名额有限，印度仅有7%的名额，导致数以千计的印度人被困在排绿卡的队伍中，拿到绿卡遥遥无期…针对此问题，拜登表示，会处理绿卡排期积压的问题，还承诺在上任第一天就向国会提交移民改革法案，为1100万非法移民提供入籍路线图，其中包括估计60万印度人。除此外，立即撤销非美籍穆斯林禁令和简化入籍程序也是拜登提出的一大移民改革。

而作为特朗普竞选代表参加市政厅会议的前关岛州长Eddie Baza Calvo则表示，特朗普总统的首要目标是转向择优移民（merit-based immigration）。针对特朗普在6月22日的公告中暂停向外国工人发放新签证问题，Calvo也表示，新冠病毒爆发后影响美国劳动力市场，移民问题是很重要的，但总统的首要任务是让美国人重返工作岗位。与此同时，NumbersUS的政策总监Rosemary Jenks也回应拜登对H1B立场表示，按照拜登说的H-1B建立了这个国家，那么这个国家在1990年之前并不存在？真是有意思了…这一句反驳也是”独到”了。

虽然拜登清楚表达了自己对移民政策的立场，并提出自己的承诺，但绝大部分人依旧想说：“如果拜登上台，希望能兑现他说的这些话就好。”

非法移民是民主党的爹，但是合法移民也至少能当民主党的哥哥。反观建国，非法移民是他的弟弟，合法移民是他的孙子。
