美国的航空公司将开始裁员，恐裁近5万人

美国的航空公司准备从周四开始裁员数万人，除非他们获得额外的联邦援助。美国航空(American Airlines）称，周三联邦援助到期后，将开始对1.9万名员工进行辞退。美联航（United Airlines）本周早些时候也表示，计划裁减1.2万人。而达美航空（Delta Airlines）在1.7万名工人自愿离开和4万名员工休无薪假之后，可在明年夏天之前避免裁员。西南航空公司（Southwest Airlines ）也曾表示，在28%的员工同意永久或暂时离开后，到2020年底都不会再裁员。但其他规模较小的航空公司也将进行裁员。

这也引发了财政部长Steven Mnuchin发出请求，在有迹象表明与国会谈判取得进展的情况下，航空公司们能暂缓裁员。国会民主党人提出了一个2.2万亿美元的方案，其中包括为各国航空公司提供更多的支持。Mnuchin认为，随着众议院准备投票，经济刺激政策还能再“挽救”下航空公司的裁员。

American airlines are preparing to lay off tens of thousands of employees starting Thursday, unless they receive additional federal assistance. American Airlines said it will begin firing 19,000 employees after federal aid expires on Wednesday. United Airlines also said earlier this week that it plans to cut 12,000 people. Delta Airlines can avoid layoffs by next summer after 17,000 workers leave voluntarily and 40,000 employees take unpaid leave. Southwest Airlines has also stated that after 28% of its employees agree to leave permanently or temporarily, it will not lay off any more employees by the end of 2020. But other smaller airlines will also lay off staff.

This also triggered a request from Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin that airlines can suspend layoffs when there are signs that negotiations with Congress have made progress. The Democrats in Congress proposed a $2.2 trillion plan, which includes providing more support for airlines of various countries. Mnuchin believes that as the House of Representatives prepares to vote, economic stimulus policies can "save" the layoffs of airlines.  source
