Position Description
Multiple PhD positions with fully financial support are available in 2023 Spring/Fall in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Utah. The admitted PhD students are expected to work with Dr. Jianli Chen in smart building and infrastructure management, including but not limited to urban energy management and smart control, building energy modeling, renewable energy integration, transportation electrification, sensing techniques, artificial intelligence, and advanced infrastructure management. The research will be interdisciplinary by nature. Students with backgrounds of Architectural Engineering and Building Science, Mechanical Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, or strong data processing background are all welcome to apply.
