The Human-AI Interaction Design Lab led by Dr. Ting Liao is recruiting Ph.D. students starting as early as Fall 2023 at the School of Systems and Enterprises of Stevens Institute of Technology.
Human-AI Interaction Design Lab focuses on 1) engineering design theory and methodology of human-AI collaboration, 2) data mining of behavioral patterns in an Augmented Reality environment and with wearable devices, and 3) risk assessment and decision modeling of telehealth applications.

Applicants with a background in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Psychology, Health Informatics, or other related fields are encouraged to apply. A Master's degree in related fields is preferred. Preferred qualifications include:

•        Knowledge of engineering design
•        Experience in human-subject experiments
•        Ability to perform statistical analysis
•        Communication and writing in English

About Professor Liao
Ting Liao is an Assistant Professor in the School of Systems and Enterprises at Stevens Institute of Technology (tingliao.net). Her research is built upon the concept of user-centric design and crosses disciplinary boundaries involving engineering design, experimental psychology and data science. Her research aims to enable products and product-based experiences that are governed by artificial intelligence and large masses of product usage data to be more trustworthy, socially desirable and sustainable with data-driven methods.
