负片negative 指的是底片冲洗之后得到的胶卷.

加洗 extra prints 相片很贵，变通之道就是一次就洗二份double prints, 如果只洗一份则叫single print. 通常两者的价钱差不多。

I will get married.=我将来“想”结婚, 但什么时候新娘是谁都还不知道.
I'm getting married." =我“要”结婚了,婚礼在近期内就要举行了.

Finally, you're getting hitched. 终于你要结婚了.
I've decided to make a big commitment to him. 我决定要嫁给他了.

注：在英国报纸的广告中，有关“婚丧喜庆”的一栏叫hatches(出生), catches(订婚), matches(结婚), and dispatches(死亡)

注: 老美的婚礼仪式当中有些特别的习俗也许各位读者有兴趣知道, 像是当新人步出礼堂的时候, 众亲友会向他们洒米来表示祝福之意. 还有度蜜月时他们会在礼车后面挂一串的空罐子. 另外有一个习俗我想大家应该都不陌生, 就是新娘会把手中的捧花throw the bouquete  拋向在场未婚的女性, 据说接到花的人就会成为下一个新娘. 新郎呢? 则比较命苦, 要先用嘴巴把新娘系裤袜的松紧带咬下来, 再把它拋给在场未婚的男性, 和新娘的捧花作用完全相同, 它会让接到的人成为下一个新郎.

写这篇笔记的主要动机是昨天我看了一部电影, "Bring It On" 故事内容是以两个美国高中的拉拉队想在全国拉拉队大赛(ESPN 有转播喔!) 拿冠军为主要背景. 这部电影票房在美国己经蝉联了二周冠军, 所以我想在台湾可能不久之后也会上映. 个人看完之后觉得收获颇丰, 我从中学到了不少时下美国年轻人常常用到的口语, 所以我就以这部电影为主题, 告诉大家关于拉拉队和其它一些我在电影中学到的句子.

在这里来跟大家谈谈当一个球被打击出去的时候, 在一旁的队友会喊些什么. 如果打出去的是一个滚地必死球, 他们会喊"Run it out." 意思就是说把它跑完, 不要太早放弃. 如果是打出一只一垒安打(single, one-bagger), 他们喊的则是, "Hold it first." 意思就是提醒跑者不要太贪心, 停在一垒上就好了. 要是这是一只二垒安打(double, two-bagger), 他们就会喊, "Second!" 来提醒跑者可以往二垒跑. 如果是你听到他们兴奋地大喊"Home!" 意思就是场内全垒打, 跑者可以直接奔回本垒取分了.

大家都知道一个棒球队有九个球员, 所以如果有人说你是他们那队的第十个球员, 这是什么意思呢? 这就是说你是不是他们派来我们这队卧底的啊? 老是白白送分给人家. 类似的用法我在排球比赛也听过, 对方有一个球员老是把球给打出界, 送给了我们不少分. 我们这队就有个老美就开玩笑地对他说, "You are our seventh player." (你是我们的第七个球员. 注: 排球一队是六个人.)

毕竟过了10年了，这条已经是老皇历拉~~

不过在老美的观念里, 你请人家就算是泼出去的水, 别人通常是不会回请的. 这跟中国人抢着付帐或是这次我请你, 下次你请我这种礼尚往来的习俗有很大的不同.
