Based on the info you provided, you're eligible to apply to our MSTAT program. You may submit an application online through our webpage. Please note that our application system is totally electronic. Letters of recommendation, unofficial transcripts and test scores must be submitted electronically. Please ask ETS to send us your scores electronically. School code for GRE/TOEFL is 6609, dept code for GRE is 0704, TOEFL 59.  Any supporting documents must be uploaded online with your application. Official transcript is not required until after your admission. You do NOT need to send in any paper copies.

We do not provide financial support for our master programs. Tuition for the  2012-13  school year is $29,000. Details can be found at http://students.rice.edu/students/Tuition_Fees.aspx . Refer to the one for the Professional Masters in Engineering.  Also, please check if you have fulfilled the prerequisites for our MSTAT program here http://www.statistics.rice.edu/Content.aspx?id=492    If not, you may apply now and complete them prior to your admission.

The required minimum TOEFL score of 90 (with at least a score of 22 in all of the four sections of speaking, listening, reading and writing) will be required for applicants.  The required minimum IELTS score of 7.0 (with at least 6.5 in each of its four sections) will be required for applicants.

Yes, this is the requirement and we can’t change it since it is a University requirement and not a Departmental requirement.

也就是说托福达不到单项22分以上，不考虑。

1.       We can use your TOEFL score as long as you apply before March and weadmit before April.
2.       Yes, either one.
3.       Yes, as long as your grades and test scores are good.
4.       No, only one program (and if you apply for PhD and we deny, wecannot simply move the application over to MS)
5.       Yes  - we practice a rolling admissions policy.
6.       You would have to re-apply for MS.

贴几个官网上没写清楚department code的学校的小米回复：
UTD：
The only code needed for GRE and TOEFL Score Reporting is the UTD Code:  6897

UVA：
We do not need a department code.
We have had a few issues with the pdf that we are working on. They should be straightened out in a day or so, and that will fix the pdf for the application. Sorry for the inconvenience.

UCR：
They will be fine.  You actually didn't need to include any department code.  All ETS test scores are sent to us electronically and automatically upload into our online campus system where all departments can see them.  So, you do not need to resend them.

2)  We will need your transcripts officially translated, most students useWES
3)  You would need an MS to apply for a PhD.  You can earn your MS here and continue on to your PhD
4)  I have attached a copy of our graduate manual that may help you.
5)  We will review your application once we have all of your supportingdocuments.  We don't wait for a due date
6)  Since we can't directly admit you into the PhD program, we wouldautomatically admit you to the MS program

In response to your inquiry, we accept financial statements and copy of your passport sent after your application is submitted. Please scan and send these documents to usci20@usc.edu as they are needed to initiate and process your I-20 quickly should you be admitted.

Transcripts may be sent from you provided that they are in the unopened, sealed envelope that they were sent in from the university. If they are not received as such they will not be considered official. If you attended several universities, you may collect your transcripts from those universities and send them in a single package. Please send your transcripts to the following address:
