Ph.D. Position Openings:
Dr. Linyue Gao (https://www.gaolinyue.com/) at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Colorado Denver is seeking two highly motivated Ph.D. students interested in interdisciplinary studies in (1) renewable energy and climate change using numerical simulation, field measurement, and data-driven modeling, or (2) advanced flow diagnostic techniques and their applications in renewable energy and health systems. The lab is committed to solid student mentoring, career and professional development, and recruitment of diverse and minority candidates.
Qualifications (Preferred):
Solid education background in renewable energy, thermal fluid sciences, or meteorology; Programming skills (Python, R, or Fortran), data-intensive processing, and data-driven modeling; Prior experience working with Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) Model, OpenFOAM, Particle image velocimetry, LiDAR measurement, etc.; Good communication and writing skills.
