罗彻斯特大学(UR) CS/BCS-24Fall招全奖PhD

Prof. Yuhao Zhu in the Department of Computer Science and Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at University of Rochester is recruiting fully-funded Ph.D. students for Fall 2024. He and his students do research at the intersection of imaging (optics + image sensors), cognition/perception (psychophysics and computational modeling), and computer systems (computer architecture and programming model).


Students will have the freedom to choose research topics of their own interests. Below is a partial list of things that the group is currently exploring:
-  Understanding and modeling biological visual perception to build Augmented and Virtual Reality systems.
-  Engineering imaging and computing systems to augment human perception (e.g., computational treatment of visual impairments, stimulating previously un-experienced human perceptions).
-  Engineering imaging and computing systems to help discover new sciences in human perception at psychological and physiological levels.
-  Optical computing stack for brain-scale simulation and computing.
-  Imaging hardware and computational tools to analyze and preserve cultural heritage sites and artifacts.

Bio: Yuhao Zhu is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Brain and Cognitive Sciences at University of Rochester. He finished his Ph.D. at The University of Texas at Austin, and held visiting research positions at Arm Research and Harvard University before joining Rochester. His work is recognized by multiple IEEE Micro Top Picks in Computer Architecture designations and a number of best paper awards/nominations in computer architecture, Virtual Reality, and visualization venues.
