My research in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) focuses on inclusive technology design. My research goal is to ensure that technological advancements are inclusive and usable by everyone. I adopt user-centered design approaches to work with aging populations to study, design, and evaluate use of technologies to support health and wellbeing of individuals as they age. 
I am looking for Ph.D. students to join my lab starting Fall 2025 (or Spring 2026) to work on an NSF funded project on co-designing custom electronic toolkits to support individuals with mild cognitive impairment and mild dementia. We use a range of qualitative HCI approaches including interviews, diary studies, and co-design workshops to design personalized technologies to support individuals as they age. Potential students should have interest and/or relevant training in one or more of the above topic areas and subject areas and some experience in basic electronics and programming.
