Dr. Yanfang Ye is actively looking for 2~3 well motivated and dedicated Ph.D. students who would like to start Fall 2014 (or later until filled) in the Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at West Virginia University. The assistantships will be provided which cover the full cost of tuition and offer the full year (12 month) stipend and benefits. The prospective students will work with Dr. Yanfang Ye in Computer Science with the special areas in Data Mining, Cyber Security, and/or Smart Wearable Devices. The research topics will include, but not limited to, mining big data in the area of malware detection and phishing fraud detection, mobile security, and applying data mining techniques in smart wearable devices for human security. Dr. Yanfang Ye will work with the students to identify the most suitable topic based on his/her academic interests and background. Dr. Yanfang Ye will also help the students to build his/her strong capability and publication record as well as the career development with a good timing.

Dr. Yanfang Ye takes a student as a friend and a collaborator. Doing research is to build an enjoyable career and have fun. Her expectations of students:
